St. Clair O’Connor Community (SCOC) is a non-profit organization dedicated to creating a safe and caring environment for gracefully aging seniors. SCOC is an intergenerational community where families both young and older live in a nurturing and encouraging congregated setting. While being able to enjoy an intimate and private living existence, residents of SCOC are also provided with many resources to engage with the community and foster relationships with other residents as well as staff.
We welcome community members to join our exercise classes, outings, social and academic activities.
Our team is vibrant and innovative, working hard to show compassion and caring for all of our residents and community members.
As a nonprofit organization, we rely on the support of generous donors who understand the importance of intergenerational living and providing a space for people to age in place.
For our 40th anniversary in 2023, we decided to refresh our logo to carry us into the next 40 years. It was important to us to keep all the elements of our original logo, designed by Martha Goertzen Armin, an SCOC resident and member of Toronto United Mennonite Church. Martha once said, “Knowingly and unknowingly, we live the meaning of our logo.”
The circle signifies peace and wholeness; and the cross, the values of Christian faith and community. The strong lines moving in and out of the circle suggest purposeful activity and the importance of giving and receiving.
